I like that Rotopax makes brackets and locks for their product minus the flask that fits in a rack. I at looked the Rotopax series a few years ago when I traveled to Alaska and ended up going a different direction.
In the end I never used the extra fuel as I bought gas every time I saw it was available.
i travel through west Texas and other remote outposts in the western states and Canada and have not had an issue yet.
Slowing down really helps mileage as does keeping the engine stock or near stock.
too bad thetouring bike doesn’t have the 8 gallon tank like the BMW GSA.

Hard to imagine somewhere where the service is more than 200 miles apart?
Rather dont go there!

The few times I have carried my Reda, it was for the 4 and 5 gallon bikes traveling with us. Three things changed for me.
My Harley finally came with a six gallon tank, 220+ range and 43 mpg average.
Seedy Marts, i.e. speedy marts, out West, mainly Shell gas stations popped up everywhere in tiny remote communities, where even 10 years ago, you might find a old, weathered farm station. No more filling the tank with non descript gas, and going in an estimating to the clerk how many gallons you put in. No more finding the only pump out back, behind the building.
Smart phones, with basically great coverage even out west with known exceptions, and a gas app, an ethanol free app, and a weather Doppler app. Life is good. Oh, and it has a camera in it! No place is special anymore for everyone can capture it and post it immediately for all their friends to see. There is no mystery anymore. But that is ok, I am old, but I adapt to change.

I sure wish I had a 5-gallon tank. But I don't.
