Is this a place to buy a new M8

Just in case any of you are not following the discussion about the Discount ESP, Jim Palmer responded to the thread yesterday and acted like there is nothing to see here. It appears that the thread starter had a reasonable claim denied by Jim Palmer because he had an aftermarket tire installed. Post #59 shows a lot of detail on the OP's case. BTW, Boardtracker online is still offline.

Many years back a farm equipment dealer was pulling the same thing . Repo man showed up and hauled off tractors farmer though were paid for. It got nasty and took a long time in court. In that case the court found the money owner had stashed and most of the banks holding paper got paid.
I have done my Business with a small family owned dealership for a long time. Always at least one of the family there. Main owner is at the counter severing you in the shop sometimes. People there grew up on shop floor of a Harley dealership. Always been treated right.

I like the people at Board Tracker and have always enjoyed doing business with them. They like many here go to work for a paycheck and have little to do with corporate finance.
If HD corporation and their finance company made poor decisions regarding extending credit to and appointing dealerships that is on them they are big boys and are playing with house money.
lets see how this plays out and maybe a good spring season bails out the financial mistakes made in the past. don't throw rocks if u live in a glass house.

Harley Davidson may bear some of the blame with their hard sell pimping of dealers to build rock n roll hall of fame cathedrals. Making dealers shutter existing, paid for buildings and demanding they carry bigger floor plans, four times the motorclothes and branded bullsh*t can cause a business owner with employees do whatever they have to. Add to that, Harley's rollout of the M8 engine and it's problems; that's probably hurt new unit sales.
Stealing ain't right but that's about what HD has been doing for the last few years, using customers as beta testers. Warranty or not, you can't get back a month of prime riding season in the Midwest because somebody shipped some under engineered product. You can cry for Harley but I ain't.

Fraud is not ok with me . HD corporate made credit and policy decisions and i agree stealing is wrong and as with most situations all the facts may not be in and the final cards played. Lets hope for the people involved money is paid back and the guys picking up the pay check get a square deal. situations crazier than this have worked out reasonable results for both parties.
