Default What are you guys idling at when cold?

Hey guys my 18 m8 has been reving to 2000 for about 5 sec then 1500 for quite a while on cold starts but runs good otherwise.
It's a 117 bb. It didnt do it when stock so I'm sure it's a tune issue. No air leaks that I can find. When it fully warms up it drops to 850 - 950 and runs good. It's more of a general consensus that I'm looking for.
Btw I did the whole reset with the ignition on/off 4 times. No change.

Doesn’t sound out of the ordinary to me. Perhaps different seasons temps outside cause fluctuations in cold start behavior, mine has never been perfectly consistent 100 % of the time

Same here. Depends on what "cold" means, though. If it's 50F, it won't hit 2000 rpm. If it's in the 40s, it seems like it might be there for a couple seconds before it sits at 1300 or so. ~900 once warm.

About 50 yesterday but even when its 60 it'll rev to 2k then drop quick to 15 then slowly drop. Never below 15 unless real warm

Pretty much standard. Once completely warmed up should settle around 950

If it doesnt seem normal. Just throw more money at it.

Buy yourself an Engine Temp sensor for that FEEL GOOD feeling to ensure that it isnt the problem.

Your ET sensor will go bad if your idle gets all types of screwy so keep one as a troubleshooting tool or a spare.

Wazzup with the whole "reset" thing you referred to? What's that about?

I believe he is talking about resetting the zero position on the throttle.

The tune table will tell you exactly where the idle RPM is set throughout the temperature range. Open up the tune in an editor and have a look. It does seem pretty normal though.
