Default Brake Lever

I am trading in my 2012 Ultra, and I have the extended foot brake lever installed. The new 2018 Ultra I bought has a really high brake lever...it is nice that I can get my boot under the lever, but I would prefer the easier brake lever which is lower on the board and a bit farther forward. I asked the dealer, and they said HD has yet to come out with extended levers or boards for the M8. Anyone found something? Are any of the other levers in the parts book lower to the board, or farther forward?

HD does sell extended boards for the 2017+ bikes. As for the pedal, I have a SoftBrake brake lever and like it a lot.

Thanks for the recommendation! I just checked out his install video. This is exactly what I am looking for. Now I just have to figure out the part numbers for ordering.

My highway pegs are positioned so that the heel is on the footboard while the toe rests on the peg. I’ve always been annoyed by the brake pedal being somewhat in the way. I’ve also never particularly cared for the necessity of lifting my boot before being able to apply the brake - in an emergency split seconds count.

Do these levers accomplish two things; a more natural position similar to an autos pedal and, a location that won’t interfere with my boot when on the pegs?

Lengthy response I know, but somebody with experience can answer these before I put $$$ into this.

I’m running this one , it uses the smaller dyna pad and gives me more room on the floorboard

To answer your questions, yes and yes. The longer length gives you more foot room on the board, while the lower lever angle means you don't have to raise your foot off the board to brake.

I have a SoftBrake +2" on my Road King, actually find it a little long so went with +1" for my Street Glide.

I wound up buying the Softbrake, thanks! I called the company, spoke to the owner, and made the purchase.
