Hell no! Harley-Davidson will outlive us all. It'll just be a somewhat smaller, leaner company.
If I could get a decent trade-in offer on my 2017 Heritage Classic, I'd help Harley-Davidson add another bike to the "sold" category for 2019.

I'm just referencing the article. Hell, I'm scepticle myself. But, then again it may be accurate and not mean very much since the stock has been downgraded by WF and investors think the future is tough for MOCO.

As the weather changes here , local dealer has SOLD stickers on a fair number of bikes and some that were on the floor a week ago are no where in sight. Future for any motorcycle is tough

I'm not trying to be a di*k about this topic. I know a hell-of-a-lot about meteorology and history and that's about it.
I just found it almost impossible to believe that sales "across the board" are up by 19 percent for 2019.
We'll know for sure on April 23 when HD releases 1st quarter sales results.

Hell, I wish sales were up 91 percent!

I made the switch from metric to American cruisers in 2015 and I ain't ever going back. I own rice sport and dirt bikes, but as far as cruisers go I'm sticking with The Motor Company from now on.

This is the Australian 2019 quarter for the Touring bikes.

Top Selling Touring Motorcycles
2019 First Quarter compared to Q1 2018

YTD 19-YTD 18 Change%

Harley DavidsonFLHXS 112 54+107.4%

Harley DavidsonFLHTK 66 34+94.1%

Harley DavidsonFLTRXS 47 21+123.8%

Harley DavidsonFLHTCUTG 43 36+19.4%

Harley DavidsonFLHRXS 41 37+10.8%

Harley DavidsonFLHX 30 33-9.1%

Harley DavidsonFLHXSE 29 23+26.1%

BMWR 1250 RT 29 0 this is a new model (I think)

Indian MotorcycleChieftain 19 12+58.3%

Harley DavidsonFLTRX 18 5+260.0%

Tourers are up here in Oz though everything else is dragging our market down if your (US) first quarter Tourer market is up like ours as you sell Tourers at something like 8 to 1 to the other bikes you just might be at a 19% increase..
If not my bad I typed what I read in an article. Also I think we sell the new FLHT but it's not on there ?

Peace, type well.

Bottom line: Stock prices will rise and fall. Sales volume will rise and fall too.
All I know is that I've owned a lot of new motorcycles over the years but I've never felt "pride of ownership" before like I do with my 2017 Heritage Classic. My wife took this pic when we were out eating Asian food and our table was by the window. I've never owned a motorcycle before that made my feel so damn good JUST LOOKING AT IT!

People need to be very careful when an article reports 19% increase when it comes to HD. Sales includes everything the company sells not bikes only. Last year they reported sales increase several times but once you dig into the unit sales, new bikes were down all year long. So for the past 9 quarters reported HD new bike sales have been decreasing, now all there other items have been increasing and I would assume that the Amazon deal has pumped up sales numbers but NOT bike sales.

For the record HD has forced all suppliers to take price cuts and accept 90 day payment terms if they want to continue to supply HD. Does that sound like a good profitable business deal to any of you! Things are bad and getting worse at the MoCo and the possible strike coming up at there engine plant is looming right now. While I hope things get better, I do not see much pointing that direction right now.

Thanks for posting that sales information.
I'm envious as hell!
Being able to riding a Harley-Davidson in Australia sounds like paradise to me!
