The same owners bought Hal's HD in New Berlin (a Milwaukee suburb), changed the name to Iron Town HD, and then got into debt problems. They reportedly sold motorcycles that were financed by HD for the dealer's floorplan and didn't pay off the loans when the motorcycles were sold.

A transfer of ownership is now taking place. Kirk Topel, who owned the dealership when it was Hal's HD, is the interim manager until ownership is transferred to the two brothers who own Oconomowoc HD (and another dealership in Grand Rapids, MI). Oconomowoc HD seems to be a pretty decent store, so there is reason to believe Iron Town will be restored to the excellent dealership it was as Hal's HD.

Wow. Bought a lot of parts through them over the past few years. Now we know why they had such large parts order delays.

Really feel for the employees and customers that got screwed over by these guys. Imagine owning a bike that is locked up in there.

Agree. Curious as to what has to happen for them to get their bikes back? Hopefully days and not weeks/months.

I'd be calling the state's attorney general's office. Essentially, your property has been illegally seized.

I talked with Jim Palmer on Monday. He told me all current ESPs are still valid and will be honored.
