Ignore that stupid inaccurate piece of technology and track your mileage.
Only use it for a quick reference.

it's as good a 'quick reference' as estimating x miles per tank.... at least in my experience.

I guess that LF function was turned off when I bought my bike because I've never seen it. A week or so ago I pushed my luck on fuel mileage. I had about 170 miles on the tank when the light came on. I went another 40 miles. When I filled up it held right around 5.6 gallons. So to reiterate what was already said, harley fuel gauges suck... I mean very conservative.... Its always best to figure out your MPG, set your trip, and track it that way especially on a road trip. If I fill up when the light comes on, it usually holds around 4.6 gallons.

How does that suck? It did exactly what it was supposed to do. If you read the manual, it states that the low fuel light will come on when there is app 1 gallon left. That's what it did.

It is a pretty good replacement for the petcock that you had to find with your left hand and move to "Reserve" after your bike ran out of gas in traffic while you were in a turn. And wait the eternity for the motor to start running again.

Back in the day before fuel gauges, when the only way you "knew for sure" how much gas was left in your tank was when it ran out.

LF means low fuel, and the number that appears after it that keeps increasing is the mileage since the light first popped on. apparently, it can be turned off as well.

How can the number be "200"? Unless it's actually 2.00.

While the gauges can be hit and miss the countdown on the miles till empty and fuel light have always been very accurate on all my Harley's. I have run them down almost to bone dry on lots of occasions when I get snobby on what gas is available. I will take the light and fuel range over a carb, petcock and a reserve any day.

My fuel gauge is really close like others have said it’s better than the old petcock system by far
