2018 cvo sumping

Are you doing that? Or at least followed the SB 1450 instructions for testing for sumping since installing the S&S parts? I just read the Feuling instructions and the says, “Letting the bike idle or warm up on the kickstand will naturally fill the engine case and skew the oil level in the tank”. I’d hate to see you buy another $900’ish in parts if they may not be needed.

I mean it’s not a needed component that solves the sumping issue. It may help alleviate a symptom, but the lack of that plate/seal is not the problem. I’m now on my 6th M8. None of them came with it. I’ve logged between 3k and 10k on each of them. Only one of them sumped (failed SB1450). It was the first 2017 CVO that I bought. It sumped at 3800 miles. It was a dealer installed stage 3.

Yeah, why not? It’s not much $ and only a few hours labor. Worse thing that could happen is you continue to accumulate oil in the crankcase. You’re one of 2 that I’ve read about having issues with S&S set-up and there has been a few that said their bikes with the seal have done the same. I read more about those 2 routes correcting their issues. I’m actually surprised that I haven’t seen anything on the Feuling kit, good or bad, since they were the first to release the pump/plate.
How long has that engine been together? Have you done a leak down to see if both cylinders are still good? I remember, last year, Star Racing was pointing at piston ring sealing and cylinders.
