Default RPM revs up coming to a stop

I have a 2019 sport glide and the RPMs has always revs up to about 1250 (seen 1300 a couple times) when slowing to a stop. Typically around 5mph is when it happens and it occurs for a few seconds before it settles down to just below 1000RPM. The dealer doesn't know what the problem might be. I have the HD stage one, heavy breather and street canons - all installed by the dealer.

Thanks

Probably a warped intake manifold. hapend on my 18 street glide. Would sometimes get up to 2k RPM's when rolling to a stop. Covered under warranty but I replaced with the aluminum SE one. Just paid the difference in the cost of the part.

Mine has done that ever since the stage one update with the SE tuner.

This description makes it seem like the clutch safety switch issue on the left handlebar control module. If so, it seems odd that this might still exist on a 2019 model. The updated parts have been out for a couple of years now, and should be incorporated into the 2019's for sure. Maybe just a failure in the updated part.

Mine does it, probably because of after market clutch lever adjustment not pressing on that switch when clutch is disengaged coming to a stop. Depending on adjustment will also cause bike to not start in gear.

My 2017 CVO SG had what I called crazy idea. I am not sure rather or not this is what you are describing. As I was coming to a stop, or feathering the clutch in stop n go traffic, the idea would sometimes jump to 1300 to 1500. Dealer could never repeat as they didn't ride it under the right conditions. So I paid to have them change the clutch switch per other forum member recommendations. It totally fixed the issue. Not saying this is your issue, but I do suggest reading about the clutch switch. Some have had good success with cleaning it using electrical contact cleaner. If you decide to try this, I suggest being careful as some of these cleaners can eat black engine powder coating as well as paint. Cover everything well..

Thanks everyone. I’m going to do an ohm check on the clutch switch. The bike does not start unless it’s in neutral. Did I get that right. So it should start in gear? Seems like a good safety feature to not start unless it’s in neutral.

If the clutch is pulled in the bike should start in gear if not the clutch side switch pack is bad, very common problem with the M8's since day one and it will make your idle erratic and can die at stop lights, how I found mine was bad. You can dab a bit of lube on the plunger between the handle and housing. Seems to help a lot of them.

Doesn’t seem to be a simple switch to ground connection. It must go to the CAN controller so need to check it at the hand control module. Don’t know if that’s possible.
