I keep a couple of small bottles of octane booster in the bags. Not uncommon to be out in the sticks of Iowa with no premium available anywhere.

When I rode to Sturgis, one station only had 87 octane. I filled up with that and didn't have a problem.

I put in what I can get and ride on. Just not a big concern for me. I'm much more concerned with what underwear (if any) Eva Green is wearing today.

Often times out west 91 is the best you can get, so that is what I run. A few times I have had to settle for 89 cause that is all that is available in the vast west. I just am easier on the acceleration and such.

If u are running stock compression in your bike, u wont have a problem running a good quality 87 fuel.. We are doing a trip to thunder bay this August. Ive map quest all the A to B stops for mileage and then the gas buddy app. to see what all gas stations are in that area and what fuels they offer.

Lots of windmills south of Tobermory There is/was a stretch between Wawa and Thunder Bay without gas for 100++ miles I believe. I happened upon 2 HD riders on my trip. One on an Ultra and the other on a Dyna. The guy on the Dyna was packing extra fuel cells on his back seat, said he needed them.
Thanks. I've looped around Lake Superior several times. Such a beautiful ride! This time I'm heading northwest, through AB, SK, BC, NYT and YK to Alaska, and then back home via a (mostly) different route.

Recently was on a trip out in Death Vally and filled up with 87 as that’s all was available.
Ran fine with no issues however I didn’t hammer the throttle to see what would happen.
