Default M8 Engine Temp

So you guys with the m8's using a Power Vision, what is your engine temp reading according to the gauge on your power vision under normal riding conditions? Is it normal for the temp to vary +/- 25 degrees in 5 miles of riding? Just wondering what temps you are running. Thanks.

My bike... stock 117, stage 2 (22x cam). Below is what I have been noticing.

Oil cooled bike with factory lowers: 70-75 in 6th gear (2700’ish rpm), in high 60 degree weather, produced 384 head temp and 350 engine temp. Keep the speed down, 2200-2400 rpm, and these temps would fall to 368 and 33X, respectively. No power loss or real signs of sumping though.

Lowers removed: took the same route, and realized an approximate 40-60 degree reduction in head temp and 20-45 degree drop in engine temp. Engine temp cycled between 295 and 305. Head temp cycled between 314 and 339, but spent the most of its time in the 314-327 degree area.

Temps will climb as you accelerate and drop as you engine brake.

Well, I’ll have to plug in my PV and let you know. FWIW, a stock 117 with stage Ii Is no longer stock, just saying.

It is a stock 117 with a stage 2. What that means is it’s a stock displacement, stock compression engine.

My 2019 Low Rider with its now Stage 3 114 motor sees about 275 cruising in the pleasant 70 deg weather we had today. However after getting stuck in rush hour bumper to bumper for about 15 min it broke 300, and wouldn’t go back below 290 even after getting back to highway speeds.

I noticed pretty similar temps on my Road King S Stage 2. However when I run my Love Jugs Mighty Mite fans it won’t break 300 no matter what, but oddly runs otherwise around the same 280-290.

Those temps would have made me anxious on my Twin Cams, but I understand the sensor location shows hotter temps on the M8’s.

Running to work today I was seeing 270-280

I was doing 70-80 and I have the wet-head with a TTS-100 cam, Supertrapp Unfiltered headpipe and SE Slip-ons.

did you consider the Supoertrapp Kerker Stouts or Slash? heard video clips of those and sound great, especially with their 'unfiltered' headpipe..just never hear of those being used here and been curious

As OP said in his post, Power Vision. Other tuners may be able to display as well.
