Fuel Door

Has anyone developed a way to flip the hinge on the fuel door 180* so it opens the other way? It sure would make fueling easier.

2019 Street Glide.

Can not be easily done the hinge support is part of the cast metal tank console.

Yep, saw that.... wishful thinking I guess.

That question has been asked a few times in the past and I too wanted it to open the opposite way until someone finally told me why it was like that, which is.... in the event of an accident, it can't pop open and tear your nuts off.

Stopped asking for it after figuring that out. haha.

Haha! Legit, but at 63 years old, mine hang over the side of the seat.

And the handlebars ripping your legs off is not a concern?

I tried to make it a concern, but I failed. Did you succeed?

I'd like to know if theres are fix so that when you fill it up gas dosent splash all over. I like that CVO's and Road Kings that fill from the high side.

Out here in California, the vapor cap on the fuel nozzle, with the cut-off switch therein, makes fueling a hassle. One result of this for me has been that I don't try to top the tank off to the last drop, the way I've always done on other bikes. I get it as full as possible, and then stop, usually leaving around a half-gallon of capacity in the tank unused. Some people grab the vapor cap with their hand to make the switch to get more gas in, but I usually don't do this because I don't like the smell of gas on my hands.

I'm on my 5th touring bike with the fuel door. Never considered it an inconvenience. Pull up with pump on left, turn bars full right, dismount, and pump away.
