Default T-Max horrible MPGs HELP!!! 19' ultra SE462

Hey guys, My 19' ultra is in need of what I think is timing adjustments that I am not 100% comfortable just messing with w/o asking someone first. setup is: Arlen Ness Big sucker stage1, SE462 power cam, V&H pro Pipe, Tmax tuner(base map is stock 114' with d&d 2:1).

Im wondering if someone has a good base map for the timing side I could try, or maybe look at what I have currently and tell me what to adjust. I watched alot of cyclesoultion videos from a few years back and kinda mimiced the AFR to RPM tables he had. I know the timing needs help i just dont know how to and where to start. Aside from MPG the bike runs great, but stock I would get around 38-42 hwy now im in the 28-34 range at the same speeds.

Thanks in advance to anyone wanting to share their knowledge.

Jake

You already have the base map.
Take it to a dyno guy and get it tuned. Sounds like everything was added and no tuning adjustments were made.
Can't help with the tuning.

Try loading a base map with a cam that is close to what you have off the TMax site. It'll be a hell of a lot easier for the TMax to learn and adjust when the base map is as close as possible to what you are running.

The Tmax site has a bunch of base maps available, just go to the M8 maps and look for one with a cam, last time i was on there they had a few 114's with HD cams loaded up.

If you don’t have the most up to date maps on your software program, hit up their website and download what they have

I updated and went with the 114" stock cam HiFlo Cleaner and D&D 2;1. they dont have anything that im seeing for the M8 and SE cams. Ill be sending them a file off my tuner and see what they think. I had set my cruise range afr/rpm to the 14.2 (between 1800-3500 iirc) range but a friend told me i should bring those down a little as 14.2 is a little lean being air cooled. i do mostly freeway/ 40+ mph riding but ill lower to like 13.9 and hopefully TH can get me a better timing map to go with.

You are running a map for a stock cam on a bike with a cam change? That never works well. Even for the mildest of cam changes. You don't need to run richer than 14.2 in cruise. That's already richer than any of the fuel maps Fuel Moto has sent me. The T Max is notorious for poor fuel economy according to everyone I know who has run one. I would suggest you get the bike tuned if there is someone in your area familiar with the T Max

Email or Call T-Max and get a recommendation from them for your base map... surely they have a cam profile and exhaust pairing that will be very close.

Base map will work BUT IF YOU WANT IT RIGHT DYNO TUNE ONLY WAY TO GO Why would spend all of that money and not spend another 300 or so for a dyno tune
