After dicking around unsuccessfully for 45 minutes this morning I followed Neil's advice tonight and pulled the baffle. I was able to cut a slot in the screw with my Dremel and remove it with a screwdriver. Total time from baffle removal to reinstall about 5 minutes. Thanks again Neil
So am I reading this correctly, I can remove the inserts on my Outlaws and I won't lose low end? And it would improve sound? Running stock head pipe on a 114.

I removed the inserts late last night but haven't taken it for a ride yet. Jamie piped in and said that inserts out is the preferred setup if your catalytic converter is still in tact. I did run mine with the left side insert out and it ran great with no issues. I expect running with the right insert out will tell the story as the majority of exhaust flow exits through the right pipe. I'll weigh in after my ride later tonight.
If you are running a stock head pipe it is generally recommended to remove the inserts, the mufflers have a fully mechanical baffle (no packing) so there is no break in period. Here is a quick video where Bob explains the baffles & inserts in our mufflers
I was glad to hear in the video there is nothing wrong with experimenting with individual baffle removal. I have the 4" Jackpot Outlaw Slip Ons on my stock 2017 FLHR with just the right baffle installed and it sounds perfect to me and performance seems on par with the other combinations (both in, both out, R only) . Any thoughts or comments from the experts on advantages, disadvantages, measured performance when running this configuration?

I'm not sure about performance advantages/disadvantages... my only concern is whether this will further lean out the stock lean condition. Somehow I doubt it will as Jamie has endorsed inserts out as long as the cat remains in place and the A/C hasn't been changed to hi flow.

After reading Jamies post I decided to take 'em out yesterday. Makes a difference in sound, seems deeper and somewhat louder, but not overbearing.
If there's any performance change, I didn't notice. Gonna leave em out for now, maybe check the plugs in a bit.
