My guess is that no one would admit it.
It is possible to have more power without more noise.
Keep the stock air cleaner also and you will have a real sleeper.
I suspect someone did just that with my 2011 Limited. It was very fast but had stock
pipes and air cleaner. Test riding a dozen or so M8s did not impress me. but I got one anyway.

I also like the stock look of the original mufflers. You can increase the air intake easily and keep the stock look too.
People seem to think loud equals powerful. In most cases this is wrong. One case is a fellow who lives just south of me showed up for lunch a while ago with a new cam, tune and exhaust in his RGS, (114”). The exhaust sounded so quiet and mellow it is the poster child for the “sleeper bike of the year”. Fullsac header and 1.75” baffles.
125 tq and 115hp on tap and hopefully with that power he can get more than a season out of it before parts fail, (his track record is less than stelllar).

I intend to leave it alone until the warranty runs out.
I do like some of the torque curves of bikes that have a cam, intake, exhaust and a tune.
I don't care about HP and spinning the motor to 7k to make some magical number I want it to pull hard from about 22/2500-4500 rpm or so and I want that "table top" tq curve.

I would prefer to hear the intake breathing over the exhaust.

You can send your stock mufflers to Fullsac and they remove the cores and then reinstall their cores and weld them back up. Unless you know what your looking for, no one will ever know and they work very well. If you never plan any engine work use the 1.75" cores but if your looking at a cam down the road use the 2" cores in them. Noise wise they are just slightly louder than stock but cruise on the highway the wind noise is louder than the exhaust.

I have a 2018 Road King....Stock mufflers!!! But.... I took out the "cat" and it has a 22X cam in it. Canned map from Fuel Moto, went from 81Hp/103Tq (stock with canned map) to 101Hp/111Tq again with canned map for that application. I get comments all the time, asking if the mufflers are stock??? I have a nice rumble, and can drive through my neighborhood.... If I wind it up it will bark enough for me. I have no intention to get a "full tune" mine runs great and I still get 42mpg. Good luck with your ride. CSM-H
