WM8-22X-E cam
There's a new cam Fuel Moto collaborated with Woods on, has anyone installed this on a 107 M8 motor?
At this time, I got a Stage 1 (Arlen Ness Method Clear A/C, S&S MK45, and DynoJet PV from FM), but planning out my Stage 2 this fall (FM 2-1-2 header, MoCo's latest oil pump, maybe auto tuner, and the 22X or 22X-E cam) and would like more info on this 22X-E cam vs the regular WM8-22X. I noticed that in some charts there is a small dip with the 22X around the 3K-3.5K RPM range, wondering if the 22X-E eliminates that dip. Can't afford a Stage 3 now and I love my S&S MK45s so wondering if it is the 22X cam or the S&S slip-ons. If it is the Slip-ons, wondering if FM Dynamic Exhaust Tuning Inserts would eliminate the dip. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...336b9b4bc0.jpg |

Have not seen it in a 107, but my buddy was one of the first to get it in a 128 that FM put together. His dyno sheet is on the site. It's a beast, he got me beat by 10 HP, and he loves to remind of that.

This is the torq dip your referring to? My tuner wasn't sure if it's exhaust related or what. I'm thinking the 22XE might be the solution? All the engine mods are noted on the dyno sheet. (yes I'm running the DB reducers in the MK45,s) I can't say I'm unhappy, really not noticeable on the butt dyno, although I've got nothing to compare it to. |
Well, as soon as I hit the 2-year mark I'll be adding these mods and will have my own input, but until then, I'll be following this thread.

The torque dip that you are referring to is usually due to your exhaust system. This happens when you have mufflers with large diameter baffles.
I have the Woods WM8-22X cam installed and have no dip in the torque curve. The torque curve is amazingly flat with 1-3/4 baffles. On Woods website there is dyno comparison of the 22X and 22XE. The new 22XE gives up a little torque to the 22X below 2500 RPM. Above 2500 RPM the 22XE produces higher torque. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...f91524e53d.jpg |

117 cvo
Yeah I can't wait to see some form of 117 numbers with this cam! I have an FM appointment in August to get it and other stuff done. Did I mention I can't wait?! Ha!
Hoping for 120/130. I would think that is easily realistic. |

Are you running your MK 45's with the DB reducers out? I definitely felt a seat of the pants difference with them out versus them in. You lose just a touch of the exhaust note, but not enough to sacrifice that torque bump.
