19 SGS with Native fat tire, progressive 1" low and bags

So it's winter which means it's time for winter projects. Been wanting a fat tire kit since my 16 RG and have finally been able to pull the trigger and installed (besides fender) a Native 180 with 18" Talon replica. Also rebuilt the forks with a progressive 1" lowering kit and Bel-Ray fork oil. Added the Native flush axle as well. Also added JNR Design rear airbag setup. Right now the front fender is in VA painted and hopefully will be back this week to finish it off. I did put everything together and took it for a quick test ride to a nearby gas station and man it hugs, have to get used to this thing. Can't wait for the fender to show up to finish it off. Don't mind the bugs she needs a deep cleaning.

It's growing on me...

GlidingJoe 02-06-2021 06:55 AM

I can’t say enough about the handling of the 180 front fatty. It smoothies the ride, handles/hugs the turns and in my opinion looks super bad ass! After doing it to my CVO SG, I did the same to my wife’s Freewheeler, it made even a bigger improvement on the Freewheeler.
SpGini your going to enjoy it more with each mile.

SMR65 02-06-2021 08:46 AM

Looks awesome, do put on some pics, with the fender on.

Looks great!!!

dave the welder 02-06-2021 06:15 PM

OP, looks killer with out the fender! Craigs list the fender.

He'd be kicking up rocks and pebbles directly at that oil cooler!

spiGini 02-07-2021 06:42 AM

Took her out for a little bit longer ride yesterday and I’m loving it so far. Having the replica Talon keeps it looking stock from the side but changes completely when straight on.

I do love the look without the fender but like stated the oil cooler wouldn’t last long. I’m hoping the fender will be in this week. Native sent it to a painter in VA that they use for east coast buyers.

have to say My experience with Native was awesome. Easy to get ahold of and quick with all shipping. Spoke with Dave the whole time who was great.

I’ll post more photos once the fender gets here.

NorthWestern 02-07-2021 02:31 PM

I like it more, every time I open this thread. Your pics with the fender just might convince me...

JAKE 2544 02-07-2021 02:53 PM

Absolutely love the look of the Native kit, wish it weren’t so expensive. Definitely post some pics when finished.

On my phone so can’t see what bike you have but in total for my 19 with gloss black, flush axle, replica talon, tire and having them paint my fender it was about $2800. I didn’t have to pay for shipping cause of veteran discount (active gets 10% off I think).

new kit (14up) doesn’t require new lower forks which saves about $500. To get a true price it’s better to call them as most of the options on the website aren’t needed.

fender shipped out today so should be here hopefully by Wednesday.

I just went to the site and did the same for my 18, was just under 2800, no tire and no paint. i'm gonna budget 3500 all in for mine, i have hot rod red flake paint, not many out there want to match that paint, I have lids by Baddad and they matched it perfect! may go with their kit, its about the same cost, though I do not want a composite fender.

MCSarge 02-09-2021 11:24 AM

Stopping by Native Baggers on Friday to pick up my EZ Kit for my 2020 Eagle Eye Road Glide. Bare OG fender and cans are 688.00 out the door. I have a local painter and powder coater to take care of the colors. Only thing that sucks is the waiting on the wheel. Then another 350 or so for the front tire....

Native doesn’t paint them, they use different painters around the country to do it. I know they used a painter in VA who supposedly does all OEM Harley painting and only uses Harley paint so we shall see how my fender matches tomorrow when it comes in. For $450 to have it painted I didn’t see that as a bad price, if it matches that is.

ya, baddad is also an authorized Harley painter so they had the Harley paint. im sure it will be fine.

Fender came in and was a perfect match.

Looking real good spiGini!! Enjoy that new ride!!!

spiGini 02-11-2021 11:39 AM

Ordered some Advan lowers for her. Non-speaker for now but eventually will be speaker pods once I upgrade the speakers.

spiGini 02-15-2021 06:25 AM

So canceled the Advan lowers and went with the Amazon TCMT lowers in vivid black. Think it goes great with the black bars.

I went out to Native Baggers on Friday. Their stuff is top notch and the people there are great. Paul the owner came out and walked me through the process of the install for the easy kit and gave me a few tips to make the job easier. Their parts are heavy duty. The fender I got is hefty, it is definitely well made and not just cheap thin stamped metal. It was flawless, no gouges waves or damage anywhere on it. Their fork cans are actually billet aluminum and about a 1/4" thick and very heavy duty. I wanted the stock style but after seeing the pointed cans in person I decided to go with those.

The most expensive part of the whole process is the wheel. To match the premier wheel on my 2020 RGS is about 1,299.00 plus an extra 40.00 for the ABS bearing. My painter is charging me 350.00 to paint the fender, considering he has to color match the Eagle Eye paint I didn't think that was to bad. Hoping to have everything done on my bike by mid April....

spiGini, that is one bad ass looking bike. I went with the black lowers on my Eagle Eye and they kind of blend in to the motor area like yours do.

Yes the cans/fender were way more hefty than the stock they were replacing i was highly impressed. Dave (salesman) and Paul were awesome to deal with. When I got the fender I had a brain fart on having to turn the lowers outwards so that I could slide the fender in and install it and Paul gave me the tip in seconds. The painter they used matched the silver perfectly and only took 7 business days to get it from a different state which is not bad at all!

The wheel was definitely the most expensive thing to buy but love that it is a exact replica of the stock wheel. Don't have to switch out rear wheels to try and match the front

Highly recommend Native for the kit!

How did you balance the front wheel and tire. I heard some people are using balance beads and some are using regular wheel weights?

Looks awesome. I just received my Native Fatty Kit for my 2021 FLTRX, just waiting for the fender from paint. I was wondering what weight fork oil you went with? Im installing the Fox 1" lowering kit in mine. I also bought the Ness smooth black single sided for legs.
