Great replacement battery

My 2017 FLHTK is 5 years old this month and even though the original battery is working fine, I didn't want to push my luck so I replaced it . Lowes has a Deka brand made in Pennsylvania for $106. The model number is ETX 30 LA. Seems to be a high quality item. Lowes will ship it to a local store and you can turn in your old battery as they charge a $10 core fee.

interesting, never heard of Deka...glad I bought my HD Lithium Life when they came out a couple years ago, ~20lbs lighter and supposed to last 7-8 years..$300 will have been well worth it if it lives up to expectations..consistent great performance so far so good anyway

I'm honestly happy seeing these battery life spans. My Indian went through two batteries in three years, and my Ducati was on it's way to two in just a year. It was a known issue on the Indian. The Ducati a mix of the factory fault and my own dumb ass fault.

Deka is a fairly known brand of oddball batteries. Forklifts, tractors and general heavy equipment. I used to have Corvairs and those had a long thin battery and Deka was the brand I used. They have been around for at least 35 years. Good luck!

Deka (East Penn) is a large producer, and has been around for many moons. We get all of our OEM branded batteries for all of the products we are a dealer for at work from them. I go through about 300 group 31s alone from them, monthly.

I would not have a problem trying their bike battery.

Nearly all car batteries sold in the US are made (and rebadged/resold) by only three brands.
Johnson controls, Exide and East Penn.

Deka make a great battery.

no idea what the failure rate is but certainly not a topic on this forum anyway..usually no news is good news so I'm remaining encouraged by my experience so far..bought the special tender and keep it plugged in after every outing, not supposed to need to but old habits are hard to break, and it can't harm it

This is the only brand I use when the factory battery dies. These are quality batteries at a decent price.

They had one sitting on the counter when I took my bike in for service and I thought it was a display battery because it didn't weigh anything, pretty impressive.
