Next Harley Engine Iteration?

Separate VVT for intake and exhaust.
Exhaust cam, phaser, and pushrods on one side. Intake cam, phaser, and pushrods on the other side.

Direct injection, maybe EGR, bigger cooling system for more consistent temperature management.

Forced induction to allow reduced CC's with the same power output. Which would reduce engine weight too.

I think the next changes will be for emissions not power.

Thats a pretty old picture from a patent files several years ago. There is a also a few later filings for a supercharged engine as well that cam out a few years after the one you pictured and were completely different. Have no idea if any or both of them are still in the works today with all the cutback and change of leadership.
