im contemplating to make same swap as you have done. Can you tell me if you ran into any issues when you swappedto the 6.5? any advise you can share would be much appreciated

 

I swapped and it was a straight bolt/plug in. I had to get some double side 3M tape to stick the satellite antenna in the stock spot inside the fairing and it works perfect. After I had John at JM Audio plug in and fix the settings but that was because I am running an amp, if you are stock speakers and no amp you shouldn't have any issues.
