Stupid question.......Since it's flashed for 2 amps and 8 speakers, does it have to have 2 amps and 8 speakers to work or can it be hooked up to a stock system?

Ideally you'd use it with aftermarket amp(s) and speakers to maximize the benefit. I doubt you could simply hook it up to your stock speakers and call it good. The power output is backed off to get a better signal to the amps. It could also be flashed back to normal at a dealership or an Indy.
