Default Insurance Shop Around

I know it varies from State to State, and depends on which company is looking for business in a region. I have been with Geico, policy renewal for my Road Glide and BMW R1200GS was $ 800.

Went over to HD Insurance on line - ran the quote and it was $ 780 - not worth the hassle to switch for twenty bucks.

Then ran it through Progressive. $ 550 for both, same coverage. Now its worth a switch.

Oddly enough, I went to Geico two years ago because they had the best rates in 2016. Not now.

I've had Geico in Florida, Statefarm in Tennessee and now USAA w/motorcycle coverage by Progressive in Colorado. USAA has been by far the best rates of what I've had and whenever I've compared due to changes in life events. I would recommend if you, a parent or grandparent were in the military to check out USAA if possible.

I have Safeco now. I tried USAA, but they were triple the cost of my current insurance. I really am going to have to find something new, as the cost is going up this renewal. That wicked hail storm last year did enough damage to drive the rates up as a whole...

I just bought a bike. Haven’t had one in years. I have Geico on my car. The quoted me somewhere around $1800 for a 2018 heritage. I then checked progressive and they were $518. A geico rep called me a few days later to see if they could reduce the quote. He said he could do $1100. I told him I already got insurance through progressive. He was amazed at their quote.

I just got quotes from HD And Markle - Both were about 1/2 the cost of my current insurance. My best friend is an insurance agent, so I am giving him the chance to match those rates. If not, I will be switching. Coverage will be the same as my current plan (100/300/100). I can get way less, if drop the values, but I don't like to be underinsured.

All my insurance is with MetLife. Mine will end up being less than $200/an because I'll not carry the liability during winter months. Full coverage otherwise.
