Motorcycle Insurance - Which Company?
#51
I have had Allstate for the last 3 years insuring 3 bikes (1992 Heritage Softail, 2006 Big Bear Chopper Sled, and 2015 Ultra CVO for a cost of $798/year. I sold one bike (2006 Big Bear Chopper) and got my renewal for the other two bikes and it now $750/year. Just a decrease $48. I've been researching all the different companies and HD insurance is the least expensive at $414/year with 250/500/100 coverage. Has anyone used them? Good / Bad, any other recommendations for good reasonable insurance?

I just switched my insurance from Markel to the HD insurance. Traded the 2018 street glide special for the 2019 cvo Road glide. Called to transfer insurance and they went from $800 to $1347 a year. Did a little research and went with HD insurance, (which is actually Sentry Insurance) for $480 a year. Compared apples to apples and actually got better coverage and a lower deductable with more allotted for accessories and towing for 1/3 of the cost. Nothing bad to say about Markel, I guess it was just my time to get bumped up and I shopped around. BTW, no tickets, and all my other policies are with USAA so no discounts for bundled policies or anything else. I'm happy for now.
First I just called Geico and was quoted $579
Then called HD Insurance and was $889

I thought the hd insurance was progressive. And the quotes were different?

Same here,. Didn't know about Markel when I originally got Progressive; just needed insurance immediately to go pick up a bike, and was able to do it right away online.

Old Geezer Insurance
I'm 62 and not an AARP member, yet... I just got an annual insurance quote for my two cars and two bikes for $1181 lower than GEICO. Yes folks that's per year. I'm going to check out the homeowners too. I haven't switched yet but, it's look like I'm going to become and AARP member real soon.

I've got a quote for Motorcycle Insurance via AARP (via Foremost/Farmers) and after checking things out with the finance company there could be a $500.00 savings. Unfortunately, It looks like the insurance that's sponsored by AARP (The Hartford) for auto and homeowners is a sham. Not only was there no savings but, it was actually $600.00 more than I'm paying today so I won't be doing that.
