Motorcycle Insurance - Which Company?

Hey folks,

We originally insured our first HD at the dealership with GMAC insurance back in 2008. The company has changed names but we just stuck with them.

Well all the Geico and Progressive commercials have me asking if I have the best deal all around.

I went online and compared Geico and for what we are paying I can drop our deductibles considerably from $500.00 to $200.00 each and add towing which we do not have for the same money we are paying.

Who do you guys use? I have never filed a motorcycle claim in 10 years but also want to make sure I have a company that will take care of things if needed.

Thanks

I have progressive but I have never made a claim so I can't comment on that. The few times I have talked to progressive they seemed extremely helpful. My main insurance is AAA and they sell progressive insurance for motorcycles. My agent signed me up and it was pretty easy. I didn't shop around but the price seems fair for the coverage.

I have nothing but praise for State Farm, but that said, my priority is service after a claim...not getting the cheapest insurance around. I've been with them over 25 yrs...

Geico on both of mine, I have not needed to file a claim but I hear they are good to deal with. I was hot in my car by a Geico driver. They immediately took responsibility and fixed me up without a problem at all

I currently have Geico with a $250 deductible.

You guys in the US are very fortunate when it comes to insurance.

39 year old male, clean driving record for 20+ years, the cheapest first year motorcycle insurance I cound find for a 2017 Iron 883 was $1,750 with a $1,000 deductible. Oh Canada...

Been with Progressive for many years. When I had my accident in '15 they were more than helpful resolving the issues with the other party's insurance company. No complaints.

Three cars and 2 bikes on Geico for 30+ years. I shop around a bit yearly. Seems priced right and fair with the claims I have submitted. One was a hit and run on a new Town and Country in Stop and Shop parking and another tree dropped on my kids Sebring. Both paid on inspection and fairly.

I don't know if the motorcycles are covered by the automotive division of Progressive. I worked in the autobody industry all my adult life both as a tech and an estimator/ass't shop manager, and I would let progressive insure my skateboard.....

YMMV
