Question Insurance Companies and Cost

I just purchased a used 2016 Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low and was stunned by what my current insurance company quoted me for the next 9 months of my existing M/C policy. I already have two other bikes with them (Suzuki's) and its about $340 per year

The HD for the next 9 months is $730

Is that the going rate?

Pretty much, my 4 yr old Super Glide is $860/yr with Progressive. Half of my insurance premium pays for uninsured motorist coverage. Odd since everyone in NV is required to have car insurance. Tells you something is wrong with our system, I pay so deadbeats with no insurance can drive. California also has mandatory car insurance that 20% don't have.

Dang!! 🤤 For my 09 ultra classic I was surprised it is only $31.95/ month. Now I have a ton of coverage with State Farm, including 2 Suzukis myself. So $384/yr for the Harley. This is AZ, phx metro area.

You really can't compare what others are paying for motorcycle insurance unless you're comparing like for like year/model bikes and same coverages. Did you get quotes from other companies for the same coverages? If you shop around, you can save some money.

There is a "Motorcycle Insurance Discussion" forum here that may help. Changed mine to Markel and they were almost half what GEICO had been. Have not needed it but the reviews are very good. I don't shop anymore just pay. Helps a lot if you can pay the whole 12 month policy at once.

Uninsured motorist coverage also protects against hit and runs plus some other situations.

I just called up and asked to put a 3rd bike on my existing policy (been with them for years) and was given that rate.
I needed to make sure it was covered so I can ride it this weekend

Will check with other companies on Monday

If your paying more then $400 a year for bike insurance, then one of three things.
1. You have a bad driving record
2. You have bad credit
3. You are loyal to an insurance company to suck every penny they can out of your pocket.

Man, its so easy to switch insurance companies. Why even post questions in forums? Get out of the forum, type into your web browser motorcycle ins and start getting quotes and start saving hundreds of dollars.
If you did this for all products and all of your ins, it may even pay for your motorcycle, like it did my 14 Road King. Yup, free bike, by constantly switching Homeowners ins, car insurance, bike insurance, not paying for cable TV ya da ya da, ALl the crap that sucks money out of your pocket that you got used to paying and dont use.

If you believe all that crap from your current ins company about all the discounts you are getting, then I got one hell of a big bridge to sell you!
