Default HD Insurance

Ok troops I just got off the phone with HD insurance because I received my renewal notice and they raised my premium over $100 for this coming year and I wanted to know why.
They said they just reevaluated all states and have raised it for Texas and some others, so I'm in the market again.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Check ALL of them. Pick the lowest cost for your coverage requirements. Takes about 10 minutes per company. Go through an agent that represents many insurance companies and they can do it for you.

I got an email from HD insurance for a quote, matched up to what my current mapfre/commerce policy is for amounts and it was 4 times higher than my current policy, I **** you not. Please, do yourself a favor and check with other providers, especially your auto/homeowners as you should get get multi-policy discounts

My current insurance policy for my RoadGlide expires in two weeks, so I have been getting quotes the past couple of days (most online quotes). Here is what I have found:

- Bike...............2013 Road Glide Custom
- Current Insurance........Markel/Bike Line
- For same coverage amounts:
> Markel................$404/year
> Esurance (All State)......$830/year
> Dairlyland..........$692/year
> Progressive.......$900/year (three choices given, this is for the top-tier which matches my current coverage)
> Geico.................$354

I've been with Markel for 15 years (at least), and they have always had the best rates that I could find. Fortunately, I have not had any claims to report, so I cannot comment on the service side of their business.

However....appears I may be switching to Geico, as the rate there is better than Markel for like-coverage. And, I am currently a Geico customer for my auto insurance...and have been very pleased with Geico in the handling of my auto claims over the past three years...excellent service.

Hope this information helps those that may be shopping rates. While your rates will vary from what I show above, it should provide a reference for which insurers to focus on as there are a few listed that are just ridiculously priced as you can see.

Best of luck!

Geico is good insurance, I use them for my bikes and one of my vehicles. The price you are seeing may reflect a multi unit discount, which they do offer and it's worthwhile.

No matter what sort of bundling of homeowners, auto, and motorcycle insurance I put together, nothing gets my motorcycle insurance cheaper than a standalone policy with Safeco.

Check into American Family. Seems like you guys are getting reamed. My 2014 flhxs I just sold was 19/mo. My 2009 flhx is 15 and change, and my 09 ultra is only 13 and change, with 500 deductible full coverage. 100 deductible is about 8-10 more per mo. and will be on my wife’s new to her victory x-roads. Granted we have lots of multi policy discounts, but 350-800 per year is ridiculous.

A LOT of things matter, not just multi-policy discounts or even saying “full-coverage”: age, gender, zip code, driving record, years licensed, years licensed to operate a motorcycle, age of motorcycle, garage, engine displacement, ABS, security system, MSRP of motorcycle, miles ridden per year, liens, liability limits, uninsured/underinsured coverage and limits, collision coverage and deductible amount, comprehensive coverage and deductible amount, personal injury coverage and limit, medical coverage and limit, customization coverage and amount, and the list goes on and on.

NO ONE can say a price and go off of that alone as a comparison.
