Ohlins Front Fork Cartridge Kit for New Baggers?
Hi Howard,
I posted this over in the Fuel Moto section, because they sell Ohlins products also. However, since you are the real suspension and Ohlins guru here, I thought I'd ask if there is anything I can put in a new bagger (2019 Street Glide Special) that is comparable to the Ohlins FKC-102 cartridge system (25mm NIX technology). I noticed the last year they fit were the 2016 baggers. The stock front suspension isn't going to cut it.
Is it possible to modify the FKC-102 cartridge to fit in a new bagger?

New Cartridges for a 2017-Current "pREMIUM"
The so called 2017~Current "premium" bending reed system is approximately 2x as long as the 2014~2016 check valve. No, a FKC-102 will not work in the Premium system. Ohlins in Sweden has just purchased a set of the newer forks to develop a new set to work in them. It will be a while.
The existing FKC-102's will need to have around 2" of cylinder length to be removed as the top out spring sits on top of the check valve in either case. If the check valve is longer than common sense deduces that the cylinder must be reduced. There is not much room there already and I wish to see the solution in covering the compression side of the cartridge in fork oil.
I have fully adjustable Road & Track (R&T) 25mm (compression, rebound, & spring pre-load through the top cap that costs only $95 more than the FKC 101/102's but the check valve must be removed. I have done many of them along with 30mm Ohlins R&T cartridges. The valving in the "Sport" models which includes the FKC-101/102 & all of the adjustable Ohlins 22mm found in Dynas, new Softails, & Sportsters are a budget inspired offering but the much better R&T ride is much more controlled for either cornering or cruising. You have my # and you can read many reviews.on this and other forums.

Check Valve
Above is a 2014 ~ 2016 check valve for baggers. (The internals are not). The 2017 & above have another steel spacer and push the top out spring up higher.
The longer the check valve, the longer the cartridge rod must be. The steel spacer is above the bending reed valving. That is above the Nylon pre 2017 check valve,
