Come look at it and make an offer. I priced it between what the dealer offered me for it and what price they would put on it.

Anybody got input as to why I'm not getting any lookers? Or better yet buyers. Have it here, CL, Cycletrader and ran it on EBAY once. KBB claims $14900 retail and $11000 as a trade in. I don't know about other states but here in Illinois when you buy a bike from a private party the sales tax is only $25. Another incentive.

 

No idea. Could be everyone's looking for a steal and doesn't want to pay what its worth. The last bike I sold a year ago it was a pretty soft market. Ended up selling for less than I ever thought it would. I'm sure you'll get others the chime in here with more in-depth opinions. Just telling you what I experienced. P

 

There are a number of reasons: it is the end of the riding season, the 2018's have just come out, and there are so many low mileage used bikes for sale at prices no one would thought possible last year.


Take a look at what has sold on eBay - you will be surprised that little has sold and what has sold has been for no more than dealer trade-in, if even that. There are so many used bikes for sale down here in my area, that they are no longer holding their higher resale values....

 

To be honest, I'm not sure I could get that for my 2012 FLHTK with 25K. You have to be realistic and the market is flooded with used.

 

THANKS for the replies. Took some time and did a little research. Of the 150 or so listed on Cycletrader I searched by cheapest and mine was third cheapest. Looks like I'll try a bit longer then be storing it for the winter and trying the Spring market.
