Richard, I’ve watched your YouTube build videos several times now. You did an AMAZING job on this bike!!
I’ve just sold my Lowrider S and you’ve inspired me to consider a Fatboy for the first time ever.
Good luck with the sale brother and may god bless you and your family.
Brian.

Thanks Brian,
I sure appreciate that message.
I've had this bike up for sale for nearly a month now, and I've had no interest.
I can't really figure out why, is the market really that slow?
I can't possibly have the bike priced to high. Your thoughts?
I just have it posted here and Craigslist, when i get serious about selling something I typically go to EBay.
So, Ebay posting coming soon.
I did have one potential buyer, he had his wallet out until he learned it had been independently tuned.
Said no matter what anybody says, the engine warranty is void. I didn't argue.

The warranty issue would scare many people off especially if financing. It’s not a good feeling paying a note on a bike that could need expensive repairs. I wish you well and it will probably sell to someone with cash and the ability to fix or repair it themself if needed.

The bike is advertised as modified not stock, so if a ‘potential buyer’ shows up then says he’s not interested due to modifications he’s a tool really isn’t he! AKA ‘time waster’.
I’m not sure if your price is too high as I’m in New Zealand and not familiar with local bike pricing. In saying that sometimes I look at Cycle Trader. It’s probably better than Ebay for bike sales as it has loads of listings.
I just bought a new Breakout 114 and I left my Sportster at the dealer as an ‘on behalf’ sale. I had it advertised privately but got nowhere close to a sale. It’s had many $$$ spent on modifications so I figure if it’s sitting in a dealer showroom someone’s probably going to get all excited when they see it compared to a bunch of stock used bikes and they’ll trade and/or finance ...which as a private seller I can’t offer.
I think you should do the same with your bike. Not sure what they take as a commission over there but i’m paying the dealership 11.5% of the sale price. They also indicated that if they make a good margin out of financing someone into it they’ll look at dropping my commission rate ‘to look after me’.

I just quickly checked pricing on Cycle Trader. Looks like a new Fat Boy S is around $20,500 (plus taxes and registration I guess). So if you take the full ‘ride away’ figure, allow for normal dealer discount ($1,000-$1,200?), add on about 1/2 of what you’ve spent all up on mods and that would be a justifiable asking price I’d say. Plus it’s one super sexy bike and I’d love to own it if I was in your neck of the woods!!
