1977 XLCR Cafe Racer- RARE!
So here is my beloved 77 XLCR. If you are not familiar with these bikes, and many are not- they are one of the rare-est HD's. Only a few thousand were made, and here is a fair write up if you want to research them a bit: https://www.motorcycleclassics.com/c...-davidson-xlcr
I always wanted one because they were such a departure for HD, and I commend them for doing something bold and beautiful.
I bought the bike from someone that is a bit of a celebrity- but out of courtesy I will not mention that here. If you PM me I can give you more info. The bike is not yet for sale on ebay or CL, so lets save it from that fate and get to someone that knows/loves classic bikes. The bike has about 23k on the clock, and it has clearly been loved since new. I have had the bike for three years, and it runs, it is register in NY State, it is insured, and it has a NYS annual inspection. It would start and ride today, with all of the lights and functions working smoothly. For me, it is a Sunday driver, in that I have a collection of British and American bikes, some new, some old. The new bikes get the hard and regular riding.
I just found a mint Triumph Bonneville that I am doing some clean up on- so time to make some room.
The only work done on the bike was a service by a local shop- fluids, valve adjust, carb tune etc. Many owners of these bikes ditched the factory carb and replaced them with an S&S etc. This one has the original. If you were going to ride it often and hard, then an aftermarket carb is the way to go. If you want to keep original (I did) then the stock one is livable but lean.
At many auctions, these bikes are going for 20k+. I am not that greedy, and I want to help it find a loving home.
Price- $13,900 for fast sale but only in cash or paypal. Please save the scams and lets not waste time unless you are serious.
Thanks
