I'm not a newbie at buying and selling bikes, so I totally understand the (ever changing) market ultimately determines what something is 'worth'. Question is, will someone in WA (or on the HD forums) would be willing to pony up a price in the 17k range at this early stage of the 2019 riding season?

I am the first and only owner. Photo is included of the bill of sale from Lone Wolf, along with my insurance card to show that this ad and bike are legit. No accidents or incidents whatsoever (I will get a history report from Motorcycle Vin Check if a buyer wishes it).

There is only a small number of the gorgeous 2017 Road King in WA that have the Hard Candy Hot Rod Red metallic paint. MSRP with ABS, security and paint was $24,919. NADA average retail (see photo) is $19,680 including the upgraded windscreen. It has always been garaged when not on the road, and it has never been left out in the sun nor the weather.

Anyone with good credit can get a loan for this bike at the price that I am asking, as it is still less than three years old. My current loan is at Spokane City CU on Monroe. Currently they are offering 3.99% up to 78 months (see website at https://www.sccu.net/auto-boat-rv-motorcycle-loans).

I just don't foresee much riding going on this summer due to job and other family obligations, so it's best that I find it a new home. Financially I could pay it off tomorrow, so please note that I am not desperate to sell it whatsoever.

If you wish to pay for a pre-purchase inspection then I will take the bike to any reputable motorcycle shop that works on air-cooled bikes. I would also agree to pay for a 3 hole fluid change at that time as well. Even if a PPI is not done, I will still have the fluid change performed no later than May 31st, or a week before a buyer takes possession (whichever comes first). The 1,000 mi service was performed by Vintage V-twin (on Francis Ave) on August 29, 2017.

A 5 minute test ride can be made available near where I live in Airway Heights for a buyer who knows how to handle a 750 lb bike. The test rider must be motorcycle endorsed, insured, and present me with $500 in cash as a deposit. Deposit is returned once the bike is returned in exactly the same condition as it left. No endorsement, no cash, no test ride.

UPGRADES:

Clearview Shield with recurve and 3" more width (less wind on hands on cooler days). This windscreen is seriously 10 times better than stock.

Rider backrest / Soft Lowers / Oil breather bypass (no nasty oil vapor in the combustion chamber!)

Both recalls were performed by Lone Wolf HD on 4-23-19. Neither were an issue on this bike.

Since you asked for opinions, we all got,one, here’s mine .... just looking on the H-D site, a 2019 RK with custom color option and ABS is about 21K new. Personally, for 4K difference, I’d be inclined to just buy new, get the relationship, latest and greatest, ease of delivery and blah blah blah. But you never know, that red metal flake is sharp and could be the differentiating factor. FWIW, I went to sell my 17 Laguna Orange RGS with tons of upgrades and all I got was very very low ball offers, NADA and KBB are worthless, IMHO. Tough market right now.

Since you wont be riding much, trade towards something you may use more? A zip around town bike like a Rebel 500 or a convertible (Miata). You’d take a hit, but at least you’d have something you’d use. GLWS!

...but it doesn't seem like he has time to ride anymore. The "offer" is for a trade-in for another bike, which he'd be in the same boat if he went that route. He needs to see if the dealership would give a "cash offer", which would most likely be $12.5K-$13K. Maybe he could put it on consignment there as another option. It's a very appealing bike that I believe the dealership could sell with all the people that browse those places. All it takes is just that one person to want it & buy it.

 

Got some good news regarding the outlook for summer riding, so I went to say hi to a good friend who works at the local Honda/BMW/Ducati/Can-Am dealership and they offered me $16,850 on trade in on a 2019 Spyder RT.

I had a blast with the 3 separate Harleys over the past 9 years, but its now time to experience something different.
