What you have there is a 1972 Harley-Aermacchi MC-65 Shortster.
Harley/Aermacchi only made the true Shortster in 1972, the later bikes that look the same are X-90's. Many people call them
all Shortster's but 1972 is the only true shortster (65CC). I own a fully restored 72 Shorty, and have been offered up to $3500 for it, not for sale....
The 72 had NO oil injection, the X-90's did. A real shorty will have no oil tank on it (like yours), premix fuel only. There are still places to get parts for them, but they are NOT cheap. If you want to restore them, be prepared to spend some serious cash! If you are good at working on bikes, there may be some potential profit in these bikes. If your not prepared to do the work yourself, then you better have deep pockets!

Here is my 72 shorty

Your front forks are bent, like most of them out there are.
replacements can be had, but they are not cheap

sorry, I just noticed this, I should change my notifications probably.

Not knowing if the bike is running or not, it's hard to say.
In running condition, needing a total restoration, probably $800-1000.
Forks tubes can be had, but the originals were junk, they offered an upgraded fork tube later in that year.
Aftermarkets forks can be had for ~$150.
Mine were made by the guy who restored the bike.
If it's not running and needs a complete overhaul, it could fetch $600 minimum, or up to whatever someone is willing to pay.
I've seen people trying to fish with outrageous prices of up to 10K for one of these bikes, of course that's a pipe dream.
Generally from what I see on Ebay, a nicely restored bike will bring $2500-3500.
Like anything, if some one gets a woody for it, you never know, but I would think $3500 is tops for a nice one.

The bike has the wrong gas cap, and those are as rare as hens teeth, and very expensive. I've seen a NOS cap got for almost $400!!!
I've also seen a cracked repaired one sell for over $200! All the NOS stock has been bought up by the collectors and dealers, so the parts are out there, but not cheap. Also, your missing throttle grip is well over $100 alone. They do make repops though.

Good luck, if you were closer to me I would make an offer.

They look bent in the pic you posted. Look like they're bent backwards a tad. Might wanna post a better pic so that isn't something scaring away potential buyers......
