Default I-70 vs. I-80

Traveling to Denver from Detroit and want to do the Iron Butt 1000 miles in 24 hours. Hoping those people who live in the area could offer arguments for one interstate over the other. Maybe there is more construction on one, etc. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, neither are fun east of Denver. Not much in the way of scenery except for ranch and farm land. I would say 70 over 80, though. You'll find a few more towns and better cell coverage in case of breakdowns on the western fringes of 70 than 80.

Both stink! Boring scenery. 70 gets better west of Denver, and 80 is vast nothingness all the way to Utah. Its orange cone season everywhere! I would roll 70 given the choice.

Seems to me when I was working there years ago the speed limit out west on I-80 was 75 but only 70 on I-70.

For less truck traffic take I-70. Both are boring east of Denver. A lot more trucks take I-80 vs I-70.
