Default Advice around Colorado ride?

My B-Day is coming up in a few days. I want to take a ride with my 12 year old daughter. Want a nice 2 day getaway. I was thinking the Grand Canyon or Moab but it is just too hot this time of year. Any ideas of a great place within&nbsp\\;10 hours or so.

You can't go wrong heading west, starting on 285 to Pine, Decker's, Woodland Park, Green Mountain Falls, Manitou Springs, just stay on the old highway down to Old Colorado City (the old part of Colorado Springs, on the west side of I-25), west again to Cripple Creek, Canon City, I always thought Salida was a nice town.&nbsp\\; When you go through Pine, if they've paved the road up to the Bucksnort Inn, that's a cool mountain tavern/restaurant.

Boy, that's a tough choice.&nbsp\\; The real problem with riding in CO is that there's so many great rides, you just can't decide where to go!&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Go north, and take 14 out of Ft. Collins.&nbsp\\; Follow the river up through the canyon.&nbsp\\; That's some spectacular landscape there.&nbsp\\; Go through Walden, and go to Saratoga.&nbsp\\; Nice little town with some decent hotels and eateries.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Then head over towards baggs, craig, and dinasour national monument.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
On the last day, come back on 40 through Steamboat, Granby, and up over trail ridge road.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Not a whole lot of miles, but some great scenery, and should be fairly coole weather this time of year.&nbsp\\; Especially at night.&nbsp\\; Good camping weather.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;

Has your daughter ever been to the Sand Dunes National Park in the San Luis Valley?&nbsp\\; From Denver - Fairplay - Hartsel - Hwy 9 to 50 - Texas Creek - Westcliffe - Walsenburg - Sand Dune - Night in Alamosa - Salida - Leadville - Frisco - Loveland Pass - Denver.&nbsp\\;
