Block party is right off the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE) and just over a bridge from Manhattan. Basically the heart of the monster, no "good" way in if you have never been to the big city. Just follow a GPS and hope for the best with traffic.
That said, not sure that party is worth a ride in from Ohio. I am a little over an hour away and usually don't go. Good luck.

That is all about traffic at the moment. Either way can be successful or a nightmare. You will need to be checking the traffic on a mobile device as you are coming across Jersey. I like Waze, does a good job in NYC getting you around stuff. But sometimes the better way still sucks.
Lincoln Tunnel to Midtown Tunnel or Holland Tunnel to Williamsburg Bridge are about the same if no traffic, no toll on bridge. They will both get you to Queens/Brooklyn about the same distance to the block party.
Good luck.

We went to the Lot party in Greenpoint on Saturday from out East. An hour in and an hour out, no traffic. LIE the entire way, exit 59 to Greenpoint Ave exit. Yeh we got lucky, but it can happen. Oh, left home around 3:00 PM. Good luck to OP.
