Default Laconia

Me and a buddy are riding from Chicago to Laconia for Bike Week. We've never been to Laconia...however we've done Daytona, Sturgis and AZ bikeweeks. We're staying near Weirs Beach but looking for recommendations on rides, where to go, what to see etc...any insights from those that have been are much appreciated!

Almost any where north into the white mountains would be a great ride. Check out North Conway and any of the routes up through the mountains, they make some great loops. Check out Google and I am sure you will find many things to see and do.

Mt Wash usually has bikes only on Thursday........taking 16 north once done with Mt Wash, head up to ERROL(as soon as you get to ERROL take a right and theres a nice place to eat there called NORTHERN EXPOSURE)..then west over to COLEBROOK(another nice restaurant in Colebrook, as soon as you get there take a left at the lights and the restaurant is on your left, WILDERNESS RESTAURANT)
Depending on time....you can head a little bit further north and take 114 west to NORTON then south......you WILL hit parts of Vermont I think (helmet law)
Will be a long trip.....but I do it several times a year and its awesome!!!

How much time you have in the area? Try taking rt11 east out of Laconia--will say [Alton Bay] take it to Rochester Area then connect to 11/202 to Sanford Maine to Alfred and take 111 to Biddeford to Rt 1 to Arundel and stop at Bentleys Saloon--about an 1 1/2 ride ,2 if you stop for pics.Like others said, anything north is great---I always take a loop of 3n to Lincoln 112 e [Kancamangus] to 302 towards N Conway to 16n [make a loop of 16b over covered bridge] then north to Mt Washington auto road-north again to 2w to 115s to 302 through the notches to 16s ---at 16/25 intersection stop at Yankee Smokehouse then take 25 back to Meredith to Weirs Beach area----that,s a great days ride

We stay in N Conway the 1st weekend of bike week then head to Maine coast Sunday night for 3 or 4 days -----You will enjoy riding more than the circus.

There are 3 areas to see----Meredith Harley--Weirs Beach--Loudon Racetrack
all are different-----Enjoy----I,m sure we will cross paths

Thanks Rocker...we just did AZ Bikeweek and put 2K on...so not there for the circus, primary intent is to ride the **** out of the area. We'll get there Saturday evening and leaving the following Sunday. We want to get a flavor for everything.
