Sturgis -Over half the fun is the ride to there and all the other rides in the sounding areas!
The first time I went was after Nam on an Iron head! (it was all I could afford)
I have never been bored with the ride there and back and as many things and places to do , go, visit...
Laconia?
Ho hum.......

I betcha that's how most people feel - going to a rally is secondary. The there and back is the primary reason. Regarding Laconia, I have no idea what the riding is like in the immediate area; however, for a good 100-150 miles radius around the area the riding is hard to beat (not so much in June, but most certainly early Autumn).

Laconia is not the best party, that would be Daytona, but it has the second best riding after Sturgis. We go every year, sometimes for a weekend, sometimes the entire week. Always a good time, but the weather can be fickle. Past 5 years or so have been very good to the rally with weather, but you never know what you may get in NH. Rides north, to Vermont and Maine are all exceptional. If you have never been, do the research and go, a good time will be had, even with "one street".
If you like to party, the epi-center is Weirs Beach, start searching for lodging there and then work your way out. Good luck.
