I am 52 years old, married. Lovely lovely wife. A son 24, daughter 20 who is gonna put me in to an early grave. I currently ride a 2015 Fatboy FLSTF in Sunglo Red.
Professionally own two companies that make electronics parts, automotive parts, and industrial parts. Am a member of the Rotary Club. A foodie and member of the Chaine de Rottisseurs, and as a passion write one of the largest aviation blogs in India.
Spent my life in 10 year blocks, sort of. First 10 in Bombay, India, then 8 in Bangalore, next 20 years in Arlington TX, then another 7 in Singapore, before moving back to Bangalore.
Have ridden bikes since the 1980s. Started with the Yezdi Roadking which was derived from the Jawa of Czechoslovakia in Bangalore. In Arlington rode a Honda 400 Four. In Singapore bought a Honda CB600 Hornet (at a frightfully expensive $15,000). Brought the Hornet over when I moved back to Bangalore. Bought the first Kawasaki Z800 in India back in 2013.
Finally got the permission of the missus to spend the $30,000+ needed to buy the Fatboy and have then quietly spent another about $5,000 to incrementally upgrade it since. Received my first 10K mileage patch on June 22nd, exactly 9 months to the date I bought the bike, and then the monsoons started, and rides slowed down.
Since April I ride with an excellent group of bikers called the LLB (originally started by lawyers who earn an LLB degree). Legendary Legion of Bikers. We have a mixed group. Mostly HDs - maximum Fatboys and Street 750s, a few Irons, Sportsters, Super Lows, Breakouts. Some Ducatis, some Z800s.
In India there are very few baggers. I guess the $50,000-$80,000 price tag and crowded streets discourages that.
We ride mostly on Sunday mornings around 6am, and always head out of town. Bangalore traffic is terrible and the heat of India with absolute bumper to bumper traffic kills even the best oil coolers around.
