Hello All - Just introducing myself. Took the MSF course, got my license, bought all of the gear then went bike shopping. Sat on tons of rides but nothing really sang to me. The last week, about a mile from my house, a women was selling her 2008 XL883L, all white. Well one ride and two nights of sleeping on it later - the new addition will be home on Tuesday. Love the bike. Got into riding to spend time with my dad, who has been wanting a riding buddy. Though he said he is a little jealous that my ride will be louder (sportster comes with Vance and Hines already installed) and is a Harley.


I was a little nervous about the weight and displacement for a first bike (I'm a female) but riding it felt perfect. Going to do lots of parking lot and neighborhood rides though.


Thanks in advance for your posts (getting a lot of information). I think my first modification for the bike with be adding a Speedo/Tech as while I can hear when she wants to change gears it will be nice to have the readout.
