New to HD from Northwest Georgia!
Greetings! I'm new to Harley Davidson... I purchased a 2009 Ultra Classic Electra Glide with 12k miles on it in March after riding a 1100CC Honda Shadow for the last 4 years/30k miles. The Honda was my first bike... I always wanted a bike, but life/family happens. The kids are grown now... so I ride as often as possible. Compared to the Honda... this thing is a BEAST!
I do most of my own wrenching... though I'm not a mechanic. Since I bought the HD, I've added a new set of tires (paid someone to do it this time), changed fluids, and added the detachable tour pack/passenger backrest to it. Then rode it from GA to NM to ride with my brother.
The previous owner of the EG had already added a few shinny bits as well as an SE backplate/filter and Big-Oval V&H slip-ons... and had HD add a Power Commander tune to it. I'm considering going the route of a different tuner... one with auto-tune in case I want to change things up later. The bike performs good with the current PCV on it... but the throttle is not as smooth and responsive as I expected. It seems there are "flat spots" in the throttle as I roll on it... maybe it's me. Nothing that has to be changed anytime soon.
