Hello from Pittsburgh!
Hey all,
I am extremely new to the Harley world. I have always wanted one, and figured I would find a cheap used bike to learn on. Been on it for about a week now and am loving it. Over the next winter, I want to do some things to the bike to kind of 'make it my own', and then eventually give the bike to my wife and then upgrade to something a little bigger. I want to remove the sissy bar, get rid of that freaking air cleaner, and a local vo-tech school has offered to re-paint the fenders and tank.I also need to get some new tires, and would like to fix the wheels up. They are in bad shape.
I have a lot to learn about this bike. There are not many stock parts on it. I know this because most of them are in a box next to the bike.
I purchased an 87 Sportster XLH883 that should have a 'big bore kit' making it an 1100? Ran good all the way home. Starts up great. Nice and loud. Not sure what the gas tank is, or the fender, because they do not look stock. This is why I signed up! Want to learn more about the bike and start tinkering with it. Pics are below.
Thanks!
Nick
