Hello fellow Harley lovers. My name is Cecil Heggemeier and I ride a 2018 Fat Boy and a 2015 Electra Glide Ultra Classic Low, not at the same time though. I started out racing dirt bikes in my 20's and 30's then chased the dollar until I met my second wife. She suggested that I get another bike. I bought a 2004 Sportster from a friend and our love affair with motorcycle riding began. After a year of flogging that Sportster on weekend trips I decided that a larger bike was needed. Enter the Fat Boy, I put passenger footboards on for her, a rack, locks on the bags, luggage and some improvements in our riding gear. We did a lot of touring on the Fat Boy. We rode the Dragon, went to Niagra Falls, rode across Canada, rode to the beginning of the Mississippi and a lot of other destinations. Finally decided an even bigger bike was called for and we bought the Electra Glide. What a difference in comfort, but a lot harder to handle in the parking lots with two up. Unfortunately the wife got a brain tumor which turned out to be brain cancer and after two and a half years of fighting it she passed away on August 2, 2018. I try to ride every day, but it's not the same without Fran behind me. One of the last things she told me was "No one gets to ride on Fat Boy with you", she never mentioned Magic (the electra glide). Sorry if I bummed everyone out, but I needed to get that out. Will be more cheerful in future posts.
