New to HD
Just got my 1st HD. '05 Sporty 883 with less than 5k miles on it. New to Harleys but not to riding. Been riding since I was 13 years old when I bought my first bike . . . a BSA Bantam. That was 60 years ago. I've ridden mostly Triumphs with a couple of rice burners thrown in.
It's still winter here, snow on the ground so I suppose I'll have to wait to really get the feel of the Sportster but I am looking forward to it.
I'm wanting to learn more about the maintenance since when I called the HD dealer they wanted $300 to service it. Downloaded the user manual and have also been reading through the forums about various oils and maintenance items. A lot of differing opinions so I guess I'll sort 'em out and pick a brand in due time.

I've heard that where I live is the second most motorcycle ridden part of the country behind Daytona, FL. Dunno if it's true or not but during the summer there are bikers everywhere. I live in the four corners area of New Mexico. Short distance from Utah, Colorado and Arizona. Beautiful country with nice roads, mountain riding, desert riding and not a whole lot of city riding. If I can't get there on my bike I can take my Jeep.
