Newbie from the hills of VA
Greetings from a 60-year-old semi-retired photojournalist livings in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia, a mile-and-a-half from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Bought my first bike (a 105th Anniversary Sporty 1200 Low) from Roanoke Valley H-D in June, passed the MSF course at Shenandoah H-D in Staunton in July and have been riding the Parkway and other roads (700 miles worth) for the past month.
My parents rode Harleys and I've been promising to get one for the last 40 years. Work and a schedule that kept me on the road more than 300 days a year got in the way. Now that I have more time, the promise was finally kept. Only sorry I waited so long.

Welcome from another Virginian. I also got my first Harley when I was 60. Am on my third one now... Traded the other two when the mileage approached 80,000 on them. We love the mountains because we grew up further west from you and ride there a lot, so maybe we will meet on the road someday.
