Default Tour trunk light

Has anyone added a light in the trunk on a 14 yet? I seen a 2011 that had a light in the tour pak, not sure if it was a added accessory add on or not, my 05 didnt have one, it sure would help finding things in the dark.

Thanks
Wojo

My CVO came standard with tour pak and saddlebag lights. In 2 years I never used them.

I added the tourpak trunk light to my 09. As far as I know, the interior trunk light was an add on only.

As far as never using it goes, quite possibly you don't do that much night time riding? Once dark out, when the wife and I gear up before the ride it's a damn handy little gadget! Trunk open, light on, riding gear on and all our crap stored. It's no different than trying to find your way around a car trunk in the dark!

Does it shut off automatically like a refrigerator light?

Refrigerator lights don't shut off, where did you get that? Prove it.

Just one of the small items I love about my CVO is the LED lights in the tour oak and saddlebags.

I find the light kind of like interior lights on a car. You don't really notice them until they aren't there. I ride in the dark daily and really like having the tour pack and saddlebag lights.

Here's the part number from HD 68000152. But at $94.95 seems a bit pricey and it comes with a grommet so I assume you have to drill something somewhere.

Here's my solution. An battery operated light strip from Home Depot, they came 2 in a pack and I probably paid about $9-15 the pack. Some heavy duty Velcro, and now all my buddies have them. The only downside is the duct tape is there to keep the light unit from separating from the base while riding due to vibration. Has been on now for 6 months and about 7,000 miles and hasn't separated nor have I had to replace batteries yet. Many others have similar setups. This was my solution. Sorry, I don't have time to figure out how to make it smaller.... but you get the idea. While it looks crooked, it's following the line of the top of the tour-pak and it turns out to be the flattest surface I could find. When the lid is open you a) don't notice, and b) it looks as if it's meant to be there (minus the duct tape!). Push on, push off.

I had a tour pack light on my last bike, a 07 CVO Ultra. Never used the light. We carry a small flashlight and use it if needed, much brighter. Everyone is different.
