Default Apes, how tall with stock cables

I couldn't find a thread on this so how tall can you go with apes on a street glide without having to change the brake and clutch cables? I am looking at 14" LA Choppers Prime Apes. I know that I will need the wire extensions but hoping to get by on the cables.

I put 10" chubbys on mine, any taller I would need brake and clutch lines.

Default 12 IN LA Choppers

I put 12 IN LA Choppers on my 14 SGS and had to replace the brake, clutch and Fly by Wire (Throttle) cables. My HD Dealer was adamant that i had to change the cables.
BTW - I freaking love the 1.25 inch bars they put on. I did 1400 miles with them on a ride to Big Bend two days after they were installed. They are perfect.

14" Paul Yaffe Classic Apes on my '14 SGS. (after post edit correction- they are 12", not 14") Electrical extended, but hydraulic lines not needed. They said their Monkey Bars have the same hand position so would not need lines either.

They put hands just over the top of the fairing. The fairings deflection has top of hands feel just slight breeze, fingers at bottom do not. You will not be able to see out the fairing mirrors, recommend removing those. Will need to put mirrors on the bars.

I don't really ever take pics, but below is bad quality one from a roadtrip. Might give you an idea how tall they are.

If you have cable clutch I doubted 14" will work.

12" Monkey Bars on my SGS with stock cables. I was told that 14" would require all new cables by the dealer, but sounds like that might not be true according to some of the other posters on this thread.

kind of hard to tell, but in the 2 pictures of the Yaffee bars, 14" and 12" i dont see much of a difference in hight, are you sure they are not both 12"? because i heard you do need to change hydraulic lines for 14" no? I would sure like to know, I'm deciding between the 2, and it looks like 14s, are about $15 -$20 cheaper than the 12", but the changing of the lines would be the deal breaker for lazy me.
