Default Who's done quick detach for TP ?

Who's installed TP quick detach kit and used the included license plate bracket ? I'm looking for side shots and straight on pics of how that bracket looks.

Basically I'm wondering if I can use that bracket WITH the oem TP rack (not quick detach). I know how odd that sounds, I have my own reasons.

I really don't need quick detach and all that comes the kit. On the RARE occasion when I'd pull the pack, I'd rather just pull the four bolts holding it on and take it off. If that license bracket does not conflict with the plate mount on the TP rack, I'd just have my plate mounted to it. I'd do Custom Dynamics for turn signals. But I don't know if the plate surface on the TP rack would interfere with the plate mount bracket that goes on the tail light.

I just looked at my install. The mount in the kit would need a lot of bending to work with the stock setup. With that being said, it looks like the stock license plate mount surface could be cut out of the mount and leave enough room for the mount that comes in the kit.

Edit: As you can see, the mount has to be laid down quite a bit. It would be the same if you cut out the mounting surface from the stock T/P mount, but I think it would be possible.

When I did my Limited, I used a EBay layback license plate holder. Had to drill the holes for it but it worked great and did not interfere with the rack at all since it layed back. They also come with a rubber grommet so you can choose how far back you want it to be.

Thanks for the pics. Was in the dealer yesterday eyeballing the ones with the rack installed and it looks like that plate mount would interfere with the oem rack, at least without modification. I got plenty time to look. Thanks again.

I used the Drag Specialties chrome large radius license plate mount - 2030-0625 ($69.95), along with the Drag Specialties Low-Profile L.E.D. Taillight w/Bottom Tag Light - 2010-0773 ($99.95). I didn't care for the billboard look of the Harley plate relocation bracket. $170

That looks great. I'm looking to spend a little less coin 'cause I'll pull my TP off so rarely. Sent you a PM, maybe you'll sell me the plate mount from the kit that you didn't use. Thanks for the pic.

I would have been happy to just give you the Harley relocation bracket, but I trimmed it up with some snips and bent it to attach to the bolt behind the rear fender (see pic below). When I found out that Florida law requires the plate to be 12" above the ground, I just tossed it in the recycle bin and went with the current location. Good luck though with your project.
