Has anyone done this assembly. If you order the King tourpak you can get the backrest with arms. If you order the chopped tourpak, you get the smaller back rest. It seems a lot of people are selling tourpak lids on ebay. I wonder if you can get the chopped bottom and king lid as separate pieces and then use the better backrest with king lid with the chopped lower box.

 

Not long ago, someone posted they had put a chopped lid on a king lower so presumably the reverse would work also.

 

The lids are the same (with the exception of the mounting holes for the backrest)

So, what you want to do will work.

Others have just drilled the needed holes to mount the King style backrest on the Chopped lid.
