Had a similar issue and turned out to be a loose radio fuse.

I stopped at the Juneau Factory while out in Milwaukee for the 115th, they could not figure it out and suggested I call H-D when I got back home, which I did and went through a bunch of Q&A's with them on the phone, one suggestion was to do a complete factory reset and restore, which I had done already ... like you I am running 1.22.0.1 which is latest software update from 12-15-2017 ... H-D provided me with a Corporate Reference Number to provide to my H-D Dealer, but from what I have gathered from my dealer and from H-D Corporate it sounds like a defective radio headset and it will need to be replaced ... the factory warranty is for two years so I am good with that BUT I will end up with a REFURBISHED radio headset not a new unit and those serial numbers need to be recorded by the dealer just in case there are future issues.

I had a bad WHIM. Not sure how it works, but it was causing issues with Navigation and making the radio freeze up.

My gps has been doing the exact same thing. Dealer did the hard reset and updated software but the problem still continues.

UPDATE ON MY ISSUE: my dealer 'claims' that my issue was the result of bad Left Hand Controller ... as much as I doubt that AND they had the bike for ELEVEN (11) DAYS, when I called to see if it was ready I was that it was, BUT THEY did not provide me with ANY paperwork ... I signed the work order when I dropped the bike off and that was it? They told me that the information will be 'ON-FILE' and if I need a copy the next time I am in they can print it out for me ... PERSONALLY, I think they scammed the Motor Company so long as it works I guess that is not my problem.

The "Off" function is your friend. That's the ONLY way I know of to avoid the reported glitches and problems with that POS gadget they put in the front cowl.

ALWAYS works on mine. Don't really know if anything other than the FM radio (tried it a few times) and off button (most-used function on mine) works, and could not care less.

Check out the view in front of the windshield and forget about the electronic garbage for a while. You might even enjoy it!
