I had a difficult time rationalizing the SGS vs. the SG let alone a CVO. I'd rather add extra stuff to the bike incrementally. Not sure if this is relevant in your situation, but owning my bike outright vs. making extra payments was my main goal, and it feels good to have achieved it.

$10k will buy a lot of performance and other stuff... The CVO bikes do hold their value much better than regular bikes... If I was Jay Leno I would buy the CVO... Regular working stiff like me hopped up '14 Limited...

When I think of trading up from my 2010 Limited, I go on this forum and read about how the new ones still have compensators failing, coolant leaks, stupid info system with all the problems. About that time the thought of upgrading usually has past.

15' Limited with stage 1. Couldn't justify that extra cash and heat.

Not all of them. I haven't had one problem, best bike I've ever had.

I think there are way more happy new Limited owners than unhappy ones... Best Harley I've ever owned by far... No issues 2,700 miles...

I'm too old now, but if i knew then what i know now, i would have gone CVO.

I like all the stuff, bike holds value, but still have to tune it and put pipes on it.

Personally, I can't imagine taking the hit on a 1 year old trade in of any vehicle. That said, I have almost 10k miles on my 2014 CVO and have zero regrets buying it. I went in to buy an Ultra Limited and walked out with the CVO at my wife's urging. It was my 40th birthday present and she knew I'd regret not getting the blue CVO we both loved in the showroom. Chances are, this is my first and last new bike purchase for the next 10 years (or possibly ever). The only thing I've added is a 600 watt Arc amp and Focal speakers.....I don't need or want anything else which keeps things easy.

The best thing about a CVO is having all the extras from day one.....no waiting for anything. Pretty much every upgradeable component has been upgraded. When it comes time to sell, everything is built into the resale price of the bike. On a normal bike, extras add almost nothing to resale value.

If you like the 2015 colors and can stomach the trade in hit, go ahead and do it. Life is short and it's getting shorter every day.

Something to consider: I was able to add all the parts I liked most about the CVO Limited to my 14 Limited for around three grand. They were; the CVO Limited leather heated Hammock seat, rider backrest and leather trimed passenger tourpak backrest. Installed all slipstream controls, same as the CVO. The LED tail light, XM satellite module, CVO dash and tank trim, turned alum. CVO style passenger boards. Premium bag liners and tour pak organizer. I am perfectly happy with the setup. My bike now provides the same comfort as a CVO Limited. I have the same listening options as a CVO, just not as loud. The same controls, just less bling and a little less power. For Around $9,500 less, all in. The CVO Limited was $12,000 more plus the added sales tax and license fee.

If I could have written a check for the CVO Limited without concern. I would have bought the CVO. It's really a nice bike and worth the coin, if you have it....I am happy to have my regular Rushmore Limited with CVO features. The best new Harley I have owned.

Getting ready to ride her up to Canada.
